This weekend was the ward father & sons camp out. Ben was pretty much in charge so he reserved Big Spring campground and we spent Friday morning picking up the gate key from the city, buying food, packing fire wood, stoves and other gear. Jon wanted to take their bikes and put his in the back of the truck when no one was looking, which was pretty cute, so Ben added Brigham’s and their helmets to the mix and they took off at a little after 3:00. Jon and Brigham loved tearing up the mountain on the bikes. Brigham especially seem to be a Mountain or BMX rider in training. Ben said after watching Brigham set off over the rocky terrain at full speed he instantly offered a little prayer for safety. They also took a hike where Jon reported they saw “two bull deer and a wild squirrel who attacked them with pine cones.” Ben filled me in later that is was two bull MOOSE and yes they actually were attacked by a wild pine cone throwing squirrel with bad aim, although he tossed quite a few pine cones no one was hit. The three of them returned Saturday afternoon tired and filthy so I guess that means it was successful!

Meanwhile Emma and I took Sam along on our girls night out. We went to dinner at the Spaghetti Factory then picked up Emma’s friend Molly for a Princess Diary’s movie marathon. I made cookies and the girls giggled their way through Princess Diary’s one and two. Then Saturday morning Emma, Sam and I hit the local yard sales where we picked up a shop vac for Ben (He liked it so much he cleaned my van!!) Then on to quilt class and home to pick up any evidence of party before the boys return.
