I Love the zoo!  This year we bought a season pass and although we haven’t used it a ton we all have so much fun every time we go.  I think part of the joy for me is we never went during the summer just in the spring and now fall.  This means no crowds!  The kids can run wild  and I don’t freak out that they are getting separated from me by a mass of people.  All in all it is such a light hearted relaxing time (NOT normal when you take 4 kids ANYWHERE!) I think I would go everyday if we lived closer.  Some of this trips highlights were….  1 The baby giraffe.  OK that is a highlight every time for me it is sooooo cute!  2 The baby monkey and the baby orangutan.  baby animals are just sweet.  3.  The cheetah playing soccer with himself.  The kids loved watching him kick and attack the ball.  This really is another great part of the spring/fall zoo trip, the animals are so active!.  4. The wolf attacking a phone book and tearing it to shreds.  I was a little afraid this would give the kids nightmares but it was still cool to watch. 5 The leopard pacing back and forth right in front of the glass.  This was the only animal Sam seem to really keep an eye on, every few steps it would pause to turn it’s head and snarl at the kids following on our side of the glass.  They loved it!  6. The new carousel.  We had it all to our selves and even Ben, Sam and I rode it.

After our animal adventure we took the kids to dinner at the Family Cowboy Restaurant.  Then stopped at REI on the way home.  Such a fun day!
