Happy Birthday Brigham!

Our Sweet Brigham turned 4 on Friday!  He was so so sooooo  cute!  He loved it when we sang happy birthday to him and gave Ben and I hugs and kisses all day!  He and I made his cake together then gave him a hair cut, bath and nap  so he could be hansom and happy for presents and cake and ice cream that night.  He just ate up all the attention while he opened his presents and blew out the candles on his cake.  I’m so glad he’s a part of our family Happy Birthday Brigham!

Afternoon Tea

Our tea party with G-Grandma was so much fun I’ve been itching to host another myself.  So on Saturday I invited my friends and their daughters over for an afternoon tea.  Jen and her two girls Rachel and baby Aleah and Jordanna and her two girls Piper and Zoee joined Emma and I for sandwiches cookies and of course tea!  It’s been a while since I pulled out my china and I loved cleaning it and setting the table!  This is something we will have to do more often.

Happy Halloween!

WOW another Halloween come and gone!  This year all the kids were so cute. But I think Brigham stole the show!  Emma wanted to be Penelope so I spent the day before Halloween crocheting a long scarf we bought her a pig nose and some bright tights and put all together she was a cutie!  Not everyone has seen the movie so some people couldn’t figure her out but when we went to Jon’s gymnastics Halloween party all the older team girls loved her and pointed and waved until Emma got so embarrassed she went out to the car!  Jon had a hard time deciding what to be but thankfully his school received letters from soldiers in Iraq the on Wednesday and that helped.  He decided to be a soldier and wore a costume from Aunt Jenny.  Brigham has been playing Attack Robot (which I mistook for Jack Robot for a while) around the house for weeks so we decided to make him a robot costume.  It turned out adorable and people stopped him everywhere we went!  Ben pulled off the nerd nurse again and I dressed in the witch costume I picked up at Gardener Village.  Sam was a very bouncy Tigger.  On Thursday we went to both Jon’s Gym party and the primary Halloween party.  Then on Friday Sam went to play with grandma while Brig and I went to the school Halloween parade, Jon’s class party, Emma’s class party and to lunch with Ben at the hospital.  Everyone loved trick or treating and the candy witch came before bed to trade the candy for a toy

Great Grandma’s Visit!

It’s been a couple weeks since my grandma’s visit but better late than never!  Great Grandma Forsyth flew in for a week last month and we packed it with as many fun activities and out to lunches as possible!  We started her visit by taking all the little girls to gardener village on Friday for a tea party.  It happened to be the witch festival that day so the girls had fun seeing all the different witches and we had a great tea at their tea shop.   All the girls were so good!

On Monday G-Grandma Forsyth, Grandma Rhonda, Aunt Amanda and I accompanied Emma to get her ears pierced. I was my normal over protective mother self and wanted to go some where where the person piercing had more experience that just a teenager at Claire’s.  So I grilled Amanda about the best place (She has plenty of piercing experience) She recommended the Silver Loft so we set off the the mall.  When we got to there I took one look at the girl at the counter and almost turned around.  She wore grunge black clothes, her hair was long black dreads and I could see she had plenty of experience piercing by the amount of metal on her face.  But we were there and Emma was ready and wasn’t bothered by her appearance so we picked out earrings marked and remarked her ears.  In true Emma fashion, when the girl pierced her ears she didn’t even flinch!  Some times she amazes me!  We went to lunch at Cal. Pizza Kitchen to help the sting wear off and Emma proudly showed off her cute pink earrings when we got home.

On Tuesday the 21st I turned 30!!!!!!!  I spent most of the day relaxing and sewing.  My Mom made me a way yummy banana chocolate cake and she and G-Grandma came over to visit and see the house (we’ve done a lot of work since grandma’s last visit)  That evening Ben and I went to dinner at Outback with some family and friends to celebrate the big day.  I had so much fun.  Thank you everyone for coming!

Wednesday G-Grandma threw the family a birthday party to celebrate the birthdays for the whole year.  We played games, the kids ran wild and everyone ate cake and ice cream.  We went home with fun gift bags and sugar loaded kids and definite success!

Thursday G-Grandma flew home until next time!

On a side note- Brigham is so funny when he tries to talk about any of the grandparents.  For the life of him he cannot keep them straight!  There’s Grandma Rhonda and Grandpa Byron (My Parents)  Grandma and Grandpa Conover (Ben’s Parents)  Grandma Julene and Grandpa Ted (the next door neighbors) Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Smith (My Dad’s parents) and Great Grandma Forsyth (My Mom’s Mom)  The other day he was trying to tell us a story.

Brigham-”Grandpa threw the football”

Emma- “Which Grandpa?”

Brigham - “uuuummmmm”

Mom- “Grandpa Byron who lives with Jacob and Nathan or Grandpa Conover who lives with Aunt Becky?” (our normal method to help him differentiate)

Dad- “Or Grandpa Ted?”

Brigham- ”Grandpa Conover who lives with Maggie!”

Maggie is Grandpa Byron’s dog.
